STRIVE TO SURVIVE

"Strive to Survive," 2 Corinthians 13: 11-13, Pastor Marvin G Spence

In these days of protest that Black Lives Matter, Black Americans are demanding to no longer be ignored. The movement calls for people of all colors to be treated as equal members of this country with all the benefits and privileges enjoyed by white people. There is moral and political support for change which crosses all ethnic and socio-economic demographics. Scripturally 2 Corinthians 13: 11-13 provides a context for not only for survival but to thrive and become the people God has called us to be. We must invest in ourselves as we seek restoration. This means encourage one another in love (Hebrews 3: 13) in spite of our own challenging circumstances because this is what the Lord requires of us. We must be of one mind and purpose, avoiding contention, distractions and divisiveness which have nothing to do with uplifting us as Christians and American citizens. Following the guidance of the Holy Spirit we can strive and thrive with our hearts and minds grounded in faith and Micah 6:8 righteousness.
