Sometimes we have to be reminded about the importance of Lent as a time of reflection, repentance and repurpose. Not just during the 40-day Lenten season, we need to dedicate time to ourselves to open our hearts to the Lord in prayer, confess our doubts, own our mistakes, and accept His forgiveness. Some see Lent as a time to give up unhealthy habits for a short time, but Lent is also an opportunity to learn a new habit to give more of ourselves to living as a Christian ought for a lifetime. It is a time to quietly show by compassionate actions toward others that we love others just as the Lord loves us. Think and act on those activities which would be pleasing to the Lord during Lent and for the rest of the year.
