MAKING CHOICES WITH ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES

"Making Choices with Eternal Consequences," Mark 6: 1-13; Pastor Richard Strode

There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who accept Jesus and those who do not. There is life-application lesson for us when we assess the Nazareth citizens' rejection of Jesus even though they knew of His healings (Mark 2, 3, and 6) and His authoritative teaching in the synagogue. Sometimes out of pride or the inability to put someone into a convenient category one can miss out on blessings. Those citizens could have had Jesus as Lord, Savior, Healer, Intercessor and eternal life with Him, but they choose to deny themselves the benefits which come with being relationship with the Lord. Our calling is to share our gospel story with those closest to us--family, friends, neighbors and community. When the Holy Spirit tells you that you have delivered the message and it is time to move on to a receptive audience, do has Jesus did and move on. Never be discouraged when your message is not joyfully received, instead, decide what matters is the Lord's opinion of how you shared your spiritual fruit.
