KEEPING IT REAL

Luke 18: 9--14

This parable is a cautionary teaching to be humble and remember spiritually where we come from. Long-time travelers on their faith journey must avoid the temptation to criticize others who have just begun their journey and are unable to match the spirituality of experienced, mature Believers. For some it is tempting to point out the shortcomings or sins of others while discounting our own faults. As righteous and sanctified as we may see ourselves, Romans 3: 23 also teaches that all fall short of the Glory of God. Before we rush to judge others, we need to look into the mirror and remind ourselves that we, too, are imperfect and have done nothing to justify God's grace and the Lords intercession for us.
