"I am that I am," Exodus 3: 1--15; Lay Minister X'antony Brookens
For everyone who identifies themselves as Christian, we can sometimes see ourselves in Moses when he asks God: "Who am I to lead..?" There is a divine call to action and ministry for every one of us. Like Moses, we may be unable or unwilling to embrace what God has commissioned us to do, instead choosing to remain in the comfort zone of oppression. Some of things which oppress and imprison us are addictions, disbelief, failures, racism, sin, etc. When we trust in God and put our faith into action, we discover that God equips us for success. If anyone should ask you the question who is God to you, your reply is that God is my all and all and His "I AM" is all that I need. When the Lord speaks to us, let us listen, obey and confidently proclaim our calling. Remember 1 John 4:4 "Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world."
