"Do You Know Him?" Acts 17: 22-31 Pastor Marvin G. Spence
Some measure success by achievements and acquisition based on their natural skills, talents and abilities which becomes their gods. Others profess to know God but try to define God based on their expectations and needs. In Acts 17 Paul teaches intellectuals and theologians who valued discussions about life, rituals and symbols that God is beyond their imagination, meaning God's divinity cannot be captured in a manmade images. The message for us is to know who God is and not waste time in empty worship. We are unable to explain our existence unless we embrace God as Our Creator. We are unable to accept God's love for us unless we embrace that Jesus, Son of God, lived among us, suffered an atoning, redemptive death on the cross so that we could be reconciled to the God who loves us best. Jesus' resurrection confirms God's promise to us; his imperfect creatures, of eternal life with the Savior can be our reality.
