CONFIRMATION SUNDAY--HE LIVES

"CONFIRMATION SUNDAY--HE LIVES," MATTHEW 28: 1-10, PASTOR MARVIN G. SPENCE

Some believers may question why our Sabbath is Sunday rather than Saturday, which is the seventh day of the week. For us and similar thinking believers, we celebrate Resurrection Sunday as our Sabbath which aligns with Roman 14:5-6 because any day can be a Sabbath dedicated to the Lord. Why is Resurrection Sunday so important to us? Because on this day Jesus confirmed that there is another life after death which is the reason we live following his teachings. We must remember that nothing can separate us from the love of Jesus (Romans 8:31-37), but we must roll back the stone which entombs us with our fears, hurts and sadness so that the Lord can become part of our life. Resurrection Sunday is a reminder of perpetual proof of life for believers. Our spiritual confirmation begins when we suspend our disbelief and welcome the Savior into our life.
